What the Research Shows

The endocannabinoid system plays a significant role in regulating fear and anxiety responses. CBD's anxiolytic effects appear to be mediated primarily through 5-HT1A serotonin receptors and TRPV1 channels rather than direct CB1 agonism, which may explain its favorable side-effect profile compared to THC.
