In Depth
ClinicalTrials.gov is a registry maintained by the US National Library of Medicine. Since 2007, most clinical trials must be registered before enrollment begins (FDAAA 801). The NCT number allows tracking of trial status, results, and protocol changes. Searching ClinicalTrials.gov by NCT number provides the most current trial information. As of 2024, over 1,200 studies involving cannabis or cannabinoids are registered on ClinicalTrials.gov.
